Access down to Sir Robert Hut

(The top photo shows the line of the route dropping East down a side spur from the 1440m contour line of Homeward Ridge. It drops off the side spur around the 1250m mark, and down a gulley into the lower portion of the side creek below. Both photos show the approximate location of the Hut. The bottom photo gives an idea of the steepness at the top of the route. Both shots were taken in October. By mid to late summer the route is usually snow-free. Photos Andrew Buglass 2010)
